Sometimes with prematurely (especially with high oxygen treatment) poor retinal vascularization of the temporal periphery occurs. This can lead to poorly developed retina, scarring, dragged optic disc, retinal breaks, and retinal detachment. Typical signs are temporally dragged vessels and poorly developed temporal retina.
