Advant™ YAG Laser Photodisruptor

Advant™ YAG Laser Photodisruptor
The Advant™ is an advanced YAG laser photodisruptor designed to maximize the workflow of any dynamic practice in treatment of Posterior Capsulotomy, Pupillary Membranectomy and Iridotomy procedures with ease and precision.  Complemented by advanced ergonomics and sophisticated technology, the Advant™ delivers faster procedures, improved clinical outcomes and long term performance.

Highlights

Efficient, Quick and Precision Design

Benchmark design from a fully integrated system: The Advant™ laser is integrated into a specially designed Galilean converging microscope style slit lamp. This high quality design allows for the Advant to operate as a normal examination slit lamp, providing the ophthalmologist with a diagnostic and treatment system in one package.

Ultimate performance: The Advant is equipped with new Crystal-Q Switch Technology Laser Cavity for high cutting precision and low energy optical breakdown. The lower energy breakdown reduces the noise associated with disruption, making the procedure less traumatic for the patient while providing the expected tissue disruption using less than the typically required energy. This technology combined with long term consistent and accurate shot-to-shot output energy reduces operating costs.

Faster Treatment: 3Hz firing saves time and allows you to perform quick and accurate treatment. This function is particularly practical when encountering eye movement or an anxious patient.

  • Additional Features

Super YAG Offset Settings: The Advant has high Nd: YAG offset settings, continually variable of ±500 microns. This feature assists in diverse clinical requirements as different offsets can be used for PMMA, silicone or acrylic lenses.  Additionally the offsets can be adjusted on the same IOL to compensate for a parallax effect in the periphery thereby eliminating the need to manually defocus, permitting a clear field of view, lens polishing and minimizing lens pitting.

Enhanced Comfort and Accessibility: The Advant has been designed with the ophthalmologist and patient in mind. The easy to use controls are conveniently located and the outbound chinrest provides comfort for all sized patients. The Advant is available with an integrated motorized mobile stand providing convenient wheel chair access or a motorized moveable wheelchair-accessible stand for convenient portability.

Superior Ergonomics: The ergonomic and slim line design of the system, combined with the integrated slit lamp, make the Advant a convenient solution in any office.  There are no restricted movements for ophthalmologist or patient, no awkward/limited working distance and no obtrusive mechanical noise. The focal length and working distance are optimized to allow sufficient room yet ensure the patient is close enough for the ophthalmologist to reach the patient’s head with comfort.

Integrated 5-Position magnification changer: The Advant is supplied with a three-position magnification changer that provides great flexibility for diagnosis and treatment, allowing optimal view of fine structures or wide field view of the retina. The magnification changer is an integrated part of the device helping to maintain the smallest working distance from the binoculars to the patient, eliminating reach and back strain when needing to operate while holding the lens.

Undistorted Laser delivery: Due to the uniquely integrated slit lamp delivery design, the Advant does not have a beam splitter between the objective lens and the focal plane. This design eliminates beam splitter induced astigmatism and color distortion of the image and optical aberrations that reduce the quality of view. Additionally this feature increases the working distance between the laser aperture and the patient adding further to the use and convenience of operation as the physician has more room to manage the patient’s position and hold the laser lens.

Sophisticated Laser Firing Mechanism: The Advant features a direct fire to joystick button mechanism. Unlike older designs the firing of the laser does not become problematic when the slip ring coatings wear off with time.

Most Modular construction: The Advant features a modular design. This philosophy allows for a simpler construction, increased reliability, and ease of routine service and maintenance assuring longer and more reliable operation.

Size and Performance: The Advant has a small foot print compared to other laser Photodisruptors in the market.  At 46 lbs, the Advant is convenient and easy to transport to a different office or operating room setting.
