Many conditions can be seen in the periphery of the retina as well as in the central pole which is why widefield imaging is so important.  The image produced is an ultra-widefield, high contrast optomap image that can aid in detecting and documenting retinal health.  The device can also scan the central pole of the retina instead of the normal ultlra-widefield view  and produce an image called ResMax™ a higher resolution image.
