Since the optomap® Retinal Exam’s inception in 1999, almost 5 million exams have been conducted world wide, aiding in the detection and diagnosis of serious eye conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, macular degeneration, and other sight or life threatening pathologies such as melanomas, hypertension and diabetes.

Optos is a leading provider of innovative solutions for comprehensive retinal evaluation, enabling practitioners to more effectively detect, monitor and promote patient health. The optomap® Retinal Exam is an integral first step in the clinical evaluation of every patient annually. It non-invasively generates an instantaneous, ultra-widefield digital scan of the retina, revealing important information for the comprehensive evaluation of systemic and ocular health. More than 1,900 practices across North America are currently offering the optomap® Retinal Exam and carry out more than 10,000 optomap® images daily.

The optomap® plus Medical Retinal Exam enables practitioners to document that a specific capture and review process has been followed. This can then be used to support reimbursement claims, as required. The Optomap Plus Medical Retinal Exam is complementary to the Optomap Retinal Exam for patients diagnosed with or presenting pathology.

optomap® fa provides dynamic ultra-widefield angiography, enabling a simultaneous pole to periphery view of the retina for enhanced disease detection and treatment determination. The dynamic optomap® fa angiographic studies enable practitioners to diagnose ocular pathology that may first present in the periphery of the retina. Ultra wide-field angiography has FDA approval to market.
