optomap Retinal Exam: Image and Device

The optomap Retinal Exam is the company’s core product and is implemented as a screening tool for the early detection of disease or abnormalities in the posterior segment of the eye in the context of preventative medicine and eye health and wellness.  The optomap Image is created using one of the three imaging device platforms, P200, P200C and P200MA.  It is available on a pay-per-patient exam basis and is typically not covered by insurance. The optomap provides the practitioner with a digital ultra-widefield, high definition view of the patient’s retina which is viewed interactively on-a computer screen by the practitioner in the presence of the patient. As a digital image, an optomap can be used in telemedicine applications or can be printed to provide documentation for the patient’s file.
