Optos to Host Educational Initiatives at Optometry’s Meeting™

MARLBOROUGH, MA, June 19, 2006 – Optos will host key educational initiatives at this year’s Optometry’s Meeting™ (AOA 2006) taking place in Las Vegas, NV, June 22-24, 2006.

Optos will hold its Optos Academy XT meeting on Tuesday, June 20.  The program, “Trends & Technology in Retinal Disease Detection & Management”, is for new and current Optos Partners, primary eye care physicians and interested staff and technicians. The program will focus on various topics related to using technologies including the optomap® Retinal Exam and will feature key speakers, William Jones, OD, David Nelson, OD, MBA, Jerome Sherman, OD, FAAO; and Kim Castleberry, OD.

On Thursday, June 22 Optos will sponsor an AOA Breakfast Seminar for complimentary CE titled, “Advanced Techniques for Using optomap® Technology” which will cover techniques and best practices developed to enable practitioners to achieve the highest level of success with the optomap® Retinal Exam.  Speakers will include William Jones, OD and Richard Noyes, OD.

In addition, Optos will periodically host “Meet the Experts” forums in its booth, #531 featuring various speakers and covering topics such as “Using the optomap® Retinal Exam in Conjunction with the InfantSee™ Program,” “optomap® plus Medical Retinal Exam for Reimbursable Procedures,” “The optomap® Retinal Exam – True Digital Panoramic Ophthalmoscopy,” and “Conclusions from a Multi-Center, Open, Non Randomized Comparison Trial of Standard and Steered optomap® Retinal Exam and BIO”.   

The optomap® Retinal Exam will also be featured in the following courses during Optometry’s Meeting:

‘Retina Grand Rounds: Taking Advantage of Technology,’ Jeffry Gerson, OD and Kimberly Lambreghts, OD, Friday, June 23, 10:00 am and AOA Technology Theater, “Case Management in Technology-Integrated Practice”, Ian Lane, OD, Friday, June 23, noon.  The optomap® Retinal Exam will also be featured in The Practice of the Future, booth #167.
