optomap® plus Medical Retinal Exam
The optomap® Retinal Exam is a screening and wellness imaging procedure indicated for the majority of patients as a form of ophthalmoscopy. It non-invasively generates an instantaneous, ultra-widefield digital image of the retina, revealing important information for the comprehensive evaluation of systemic and ocular health.
With optomap® plus Medical Retinal Exam, a new procedure available from Optos, practitioners are able to document that a specific capture and review process has been followed. This evidence can then be used to support reimbursement claims, as required.
For patients presenting with a chief complaint that may indicate pathology, if they have signs or symptoms of pathology, or they have a medical history of pathology, an optomap® plus Medical Retinal Exam with interpretation and report may be considered a medically reimbursable procedure.
optomap® plus with ResMax™
-
ResMax™ found in optomap® plus Medical Retinal Exam - ResMax™ will scan the central pole of the retina instead of the normal ultra-widefield scan. It applies the pixels into a smaller area, resulting in approximately 10-15% increase in resolution.
-
Image Artifact Counting found in optomap® plus - The software will count annotation items. A count of each distinct artifact type in each sector of the overlay grid will be displayed, and a total for the whole image will also be displayed.
